Day Four – Assalamu Alaykum!

Today was the same, and very different. As with yesterday, we split into two groups and each visited in the homes of five families. This time, however, the families were refugees from Syria and they were all Muslim.

What a difference. They were beautiful people – a few were even open to our prayers. But it was a completely different atmosphere and in many ways harder than the days before.

We visited with people who had lost friends and family members to the horrors of war. Sometimes right in front of them. Many have lost land and homes. And now they are living in run-down apartments with little to no furniture … often no father … and many children. But we were able to bring peace – the Prince of Peace – and were well received.

This has had the effect, however, of clearly showing us our primary call to tell the story  of, and bring aid to, our Christian brothers and sisters in this beautiful but war-torn corner of the world. Please pray with us to get some clarity on what that should look like.

We have now ended our day by celebrating Shawn’s birthday. An amazing place to celebrate and, as if to underscore the significance, he was treated to free food by the Jordanian Ambassador to Ukraine.

True story.

  1. Wa-Alaikum-Salaam! We are so thankful for what the Lord is doing. I was especially impressed that the team extended Christ’s love to all people (including muslims). This is what following Christ is all about.

We love you and we will continue to pray for you all.

    Blessings
    Ayo
