Halifax – Day 1

Posted: May 16, 2016 in Halifax 2016

GoTeam Halifax got busy right away on day 1 by starting our adventure serving with St. Andrew’s Church Sunday Supper in downtown Halifax. We helped by setting up the dinner and packing pizza for takeout by the guests expected to come for the supper. We worked side by side by other volunteer groups and it is amazing how everyone worked together like a well-oiled machine.

What was amazing to see was the love flowing from all the other volunteers. One of the facilitators during orientation said that “it doesn’t matter that we all come from different walks of life, but only that we want to express love to the 200 guests”. I guess, at the end of the day, the greatest language that speaks of Christ to other people is just that – love.

The first day is done. The team is tired but still as excited as ever to see how God will open doors for the rest of week. So, in case anyone is looking for a venue to serve and share God’s love here in our city, the Sunday Supper at St. Andrew’s Church is a great opportunity to do so!
