The Hope in Agape

Z2.2

Today we visited homes in Agape Community (Mukobeko) with the volunteers. In our testimonies after, a common theme was the magnitude of the needs we saw. Orphans being cared for by extended families that were already stretched in their limited resources. Most of the children were unable to attend school due to the lack of finances. Adults who had attended school in the past now had an education but could not find employment. Amidst all this lack, where was the hope? Agape brought it.

  • Children were being cared for by families – sometimes the neediest of families.
  • Volunteers were going twice a week into the community to care for widows and orphans.

Pastor Lawrence reminded us that God has ordained each one of us to be here with them at this time and place. All we really have to give that is eternal is Jesus.

Jesus is the “hope” in Agape!
